Favorite Meal

When Dad and I got married, he made me a deal. If I made anything he wouldn't eat, he'd pay me ten dollars. He has never had to pay up. That doesn't imply that every meal has been a winner. More likely it means that Dad is very close with his money . . . and very supportive of the cook.

We also decided we didn't want to raise picky eaters. I remember Dad telling a less than enthusiastic diner that he/she "didn't have to like it, just had to eat it."

With this introduction I would like to hear about your favorite meals from childhood. I guess it would also be interesting to hear about your least favorite foods now that you are out on your own and can eat whatever you want; but be nice. Whatever you say may come back to haunt you with your own children.

Primary Sacrament Meeting Program

Today we enjoyed out Primary Sacrament Meeting Program. It brought back memories of watching each of you say your part then trying to catch your eye to let you know we were proud of you. It brought back memories of singing. Some of you were a bit timid and others sang to fill the chapel.

This picture represents my memories growing up in Bismarck Branch. Here our primary is standing in the front of our small chapel. Notice there are no choir seats but just a few chairs for the Branch President and speakers at the front. Grandma is playing the piano, I am next to her, and Aunt Evelyn next to me. This picture also makes me wonder what goofy thing one of us did. You just can't have a Primary program without that moment of pure spontaneous kid-cuteness that steals the show. Primary Sacrament Meetings are sweet times.

General Conference Memories

Dad and I just finished our traditional breakfast cake and scrambled egg breakfast and are preparing to watch General Conference. Over breakfast we had time to think back on this tradition and how it began. Share your memories of General Conference weekend and maybe some of the new traditions you have started.

Our family may have a record for sprained ankles. Have all of you had sprains? How many? How did you get yours? Who has had the most interesting treatment for a sprain?
